This is a firm lace-up ankle brace with a posterior-entry, speed-lace closure. The bungee-style lacing pulls tight one-handed, so you set the tension yourself and adjust it on the run without unthreading the whole brace. It supports the ankle on both the inside and the outside, working against the inward and outward rolling that a firm strap is built to limit.

The Jetlace is built by Thrive around a breathable ballistic nylon shell, with a posterior entry so your foot goes in from the back and the speed lace does the tensioning. That closure is the point of difference: one hand, a quick pull, and the support is set, which matters when you are getting ready on a cold morning or resetting at the break. The brace takes optional inserts where you want more control, and it is universal, so the one unit fits either the left or the right foot.

A firm lace-up brace is what people reach for when they want structured external support they set by hand, through a laced shell rather than a pull-on sleeve. It works mechanically, holding the ankle and limiting how far the joint rolls in or out under load. It is external support, not a fix, and a fresh or undiagnosed ankle problem is one to take to a physiotherapist before you settle on what to strap or brace.

Straptor is Australian owned and run, dispatched nationally and stocked at the East Bendigo walk-in, with phone advice from people who work with the ankle range every day. The braces sit next to the strapping tape on the same site, so if you are weighing a brace against tape you can see both. The ankle taping guide walks through how tape and a brace compare and where external support fits after a history of ankle trouble.

Usage

The foot goes in from the back through the posterior entry, then you pull the speed lace to set the tension and lock it off, one-handed. Because the fit is universal, the same brace works whether you are supporting a left or a right ankle. Sizing runs SML, MED and LG; if you are between sizes or not sure which to order, call the Bendigo team before you buy rather than guess.

Common questions

Is it for the left or the right foot? Either. The Jetlace is a universal fit, so one unit covers whichever ankle you need it on.

How firm is it? It's a firm lace-up stabiliser. You set the tension by hand through the laced shell and adjust it as you go, which is what you are choosing when you pick a lace-up over a pull-on sleeve.

Which size do I order? The range is SML, MED and LG. There is no substitute for measuring, so if you are unsure, ring the team on the Bendigo line and we will talk you through it.

Tape or a brace? Both have a place. The ankle taping guide covers how tape and a brace stack up so you can pick what suits your ankle and your week.

See the wider braces and supports range for knee, wrist, finger and shoulder options, or compare it against the other ankle supports in the same collection. If you are still deciding between a brace and strapping, how tape and a brace compare for the ankle lays out both.
