Marcus Hando
Clinical Reviewer
BHlthSc (Public Health), MParamedic Practice, GradDipCritCarePara (Monash)
Marcus has more than a decade of frontline clinical experience, several years of it at intensive care paramedic level. His work covers acute injury assessment and musculoskeletal care, the on-scene decision-making that deals with ankle rolls, joint dislocations and soft tissue injuries. That is the same territory Straptor's taping content lives in, which is why he reviews it.
He holds a Master of Paramedic Practice, a Graduate Diploma of Critical Care Paramedicine from Monash University, and a Bachelor of Health Science majoring in Public Health.
Marcus is also a keen runner with a particular interest in lower-limb taping, knee strapping especially. He holds no formal sports-taping qualification, and says so plainly. What he brings instead is clinical anatomy training and the perspective of someone who tapes and trains on his own body, which is useful when checking whether technique content is sound and safe.
As Straptor's clinical reviewer, Marcus checks that content covering taping technique, injury management, anatomy and product claims is accurate, current and in line with Australian clinical standards.
Marcus holds current general registration with AHPRA as a paramedic. Registration status can be verified via the AHPRA public register at ahpra.gov.au.
Marcus is a part-owner of Australian First Aid Distributions, which owns Straptor, and therefore has a financial interest in products sold here. His review role verifies clinical accuracy against Australian guidelines; he does not endorse specific products in the content he reviews.
