This cotton-backed elastic adhesive bandage straps thumbs, wrists, fingers and wider joints, stretching with the joint while the adhesive grips the skin. It sits between a rigid zinc-oxide strap and the softer give of a kinesiology tape: real stretch, but firm enough to hold. Beige/flesh, in 50mm and 75mm widths on a 4.5m roll.

EAB, short for elastic adhesive bandage, is the tape trainers reach for on thumbs, wrists and fingers, and as a stretchy outer layer over a rigid anchor. The stretch moves with the joint and the rubber-based adhesive sticks to skin, unlike a cohesive bandage that only sticks to itself. Cut it to length with scissors, anchor the ends, then wrap across the joint and let the stretch do the work. It's designed to stay put through movement and sweat.

The 50mm width suits thumbs, wrists and fingers; the 75mm covers wider areas and works as an outer anchor layer over a rigid base. The cotton backing is built to sit comfortably against the skin through a long session. Straptor is Australian owned and run, dispatched nationally and stocked at the East Bendigo walk-in, with phone advice from people who actually strap tape.

It's sold next to the rigid rolls, underwrap and accessories that finish the job, so a club can kit the bench from one order. For where it fits in the line, see our full Straptor tape range.

Usage

Apply to clean, dry skin. Cut the length you need with scissors, anchor the tape without pulling it tight at the ends, then wrap across the joint with light-to-firm tension and let the stretch do the work. On thumbs, wrists and fingers it works on its own or over a rigid anchor; the 75mm suits an outer overwrap layer on larger areas. Peel it off slowly and low to the skin at the end of the session. For step-by-step thumb technique, see the thumb taping guide.

Common questions

Is it hand-tearable? No. Comfort EAB is cut to length with scissors rather than torn by hand, so keep a pair of tape scissors on the bench.

Which width should I choose? The 50mm suits thumbs, wrists and fingers. The 75mm covers wider areas and works as an outer anchor layer over a rigid base.

Does it stick to skin? Yes. The rubber-based adhesive grips the skin, unlike a cohesive bandage that only sticks to itself. Apply to clean, dry skin and remove it slowly.

Compliance and claims

Straptor is Australian owned and run. This is general sports strapping tape, not a therapeutic good: for how to strap a specific joint, follow the taping guides.

See the Comfort EAB range for the boxed case packs, and the underwrap and strapping accessories stocked alongside it for the bench.

Very flexible which suits our purpose..

Tape is very flexible and not as rigid or constricted as other tapes. This is ideal for us as this is used to wrap a splint on the thumb when my son plays basketball.
