This single 10cm x 10cm pad of self-adhesive foam sits between skin and whatever rubs against it: a strap, the edge of a brace, or a boot. It peels and sticks straight onto the skin, and it cuts down to any shape you need for the spot you are padding. Foam padding is the small thing that makes a longer session sit more comfortably.
The foam gives a layer of cushioning where pressure builds up or a hard edge presses in. Trainers reach for it under rigid tape and elastic bandage over bony spots like the top of the foot, the heel or the collarbone, and inside footwear where the shoe rubs. The self-adhesive backing holds it in place while you tape or wrap over the top, so it stays put while you set the strapping.
This is the single-pad size, easy to trim down for one small area. If you are padding a whole squad or want to cut multiple pieces from a length, the OrthoFoam roll is the version for that. Foam padding sits in the same part of the kit as the underwrap you lay under a strap, so it is worth keeping both in the bag.
Straptor is Australian owned and run, with the padding stocked next to the tape, underwrap and braces it works with, so a club can kit the whole bench from one order. There is national dispatch and a Bendigo walk-in counter, with phone advice from people who know the range.

Usage
Clean and dry the skin first. Peel the backing, place the foam over the area you want to protect, and press it down. Trim it to shape with scissors before or after you stick it if you need a smaller piece. Tape or bandage over the top as normal, then peel the foam away gently when you take the strapping off.
Care and storage
Keep the pad in a cool, dry spot in the kit until you need it. It is single use: once it has been stuck down and pulled off, swap it for a fresh pad.
Common questions
Where do you use foam padding? Over any spot where tape, a brace or a boot rubs or presses: the top of the foot, the heel, a bony point, or under a strap that would otherwise dig in.
Does it stick on its own? Yes. The backing is self-adhesive, so it holds on the skin while you tape or wrap over the top. No separate spray or clip is needed.
Can you cut it to size? Yes. Trim it with scissors to fit a small area before or after you stick it down.
How is this different from the OrthoFoam roll? This is the single 10cm x 10cm pad, ready to grab for one spot. The roll is a length you cut multiple pieces from, which suits padding a squad.
Foam padding sits with the underwrap and strapping accessories that finish a taping job, so a club can keep the padding and the tape it goes under in the one order. For the rigid and elastic tape it is padded beneath, see the strapping tape we make.
