Come game day, hydration sits on the same bench as the tape. Koda electrolyte sticks are sugar-free sachets you tip into a drink bottle, turning plain water into an electrolyte drink with sodium, potassium and magnesium on board. Each pack holds 20 single-serve sticks, and Straptor carries four flavours: Berry, Grapefruit, Lemon and Orange.
One stick dissolves quickly in water with a light effervescence, so there is no shaking or waiting around at the drinks break. The sugar-free formula keeps it to flavour and electrolytes without the sugar, and at 7 calories a stick it stays light. Each stick carries 430mg of sodium, plus potassium and magnesium, and there is no caffeine in the mix.
The stick-pack format suits a kit bag. A trainer can hand them out on the bench, a runner can drop one in a bottle before a long session, and there is no bulky tub to carry around. Straptor stocks the sticks next to the 1 litre drink bottle you would dissolve one in and the rest of the game-day bench kit, so a club can order the hydration side of the bench in one go.
Straptor is Australian owned and run, dispatched nationally and stocked at the East Bendigo walk-in, with phone advice if you want to talk through the range.
