Adult defibrillation pads for the Cardiac Science Powerheart G3 AED, part number REF 9131, with a two-year shelf life. These are the replacement electrode pads a Powerheart G3 needs to stay set up between rescues, sized for patients aged eight and over or 25kg and above.

The pads are non-polarised, which means either pad can go on the upper-right or the lower-left of the chest. That takes one decision away from a first-time responder under pressure, and placement indicators printed on the pads show where each one goes.

They use Cardiac Science's Intellisense pre-connection, so the pads plug into the AED and stay connected as part of the unit's Rescue Ready setup. Through that connection the pads tell the AED the patient type, the energy level and the CPR protocol, which is what keeps a Powerheart G3 armed and ready between uses. Keep a set connected and in date, because pads carry a two-year shelf life and a lapsed set can't be relied on when it matters.

Buy them from a supplier that also stocks the Powerheart G3 unit, its battery and the other AED consumables, so a club can keep one defibrillator rescue-ready from one place. Straptor is Australian owned, with the defibrillator range on the shelf at the East Bendigo store and phone advice if you're not sure which pads match your unit. What's in the box

One set of Cardiac Science Powerheart G3 adult defibrillation pads (part number REF 9131).

Usage

Keep an in-date set of pads connected to the Powerheart G3 so the unit stays rescue-ready, and check the AED's status indicator regularly. When you replace a set, connect the new pads to the AED and confirm the unit returns to ready. Leave the sealed pad pack unopened until it's needed. In an emergency, follow the AED's voice prompts and the placement indicators printed on the pads.

Care and storage

Store the sealed pads flat and out of extreme heat. Check the expiry date on the pack and the AED status indicator regularly so the unit is ready when it's needed. Fit a fresh set before the printed date, and after any use.

Compliance

Defibrillation pads are part of an automated external defibrillator, which is a medical device. Always read and follow the instructions for use, and keep the AED paired with local first aid and CPR training as part of a club response plan.

Common questions

Which AED do these fit? The Cardiac Science Powerheart G3 range. They pre-connect to the unit through Intellisense as part of its Rescue Ready setup.

Are these adult or paediatric pads? Adult, for patients aged eight and over or 25kg and above. If you need to cover younger or smaller patients, call and we'll point you to the right pads for your unit.

What does non-polarised mean? Either pad can go on the upper-right or the lower-left of the chest, so there's one less decision to make at the scene.

How long do they last? They carry a two-year shelf life. Replace them before the printed expiry date, and after any use, so the AED stays rescue-ready.
