What underwrap does under a strapping job

Underwrap, also called pre-wrap, is a thin layer applied before rigid tape or elastic adhesive bandage goes on. It reduces direct contact between adhesive and skin, cuts friction, and makes tape easier to peel off at full time with less hair pull. It's a comfort and skin-contact layer, not the part that does the holding.

Foam or adhesive underwrap

Foam underwrap is a soft, non-adhesive foam that sits loosely under the tape, the usual pick for pre-taping across a team. The Foam Underwrap runs 70mm by 27m, wide enough for ankles, knees and thighs. Adhesive Underwrap holds lightly to the skin so it stays put while you build the strap over it, which suits a wrap that needs to keep position through a full game. Single rolls cover the kit bag, and the adhesive underwrap also comes in bulk 50mm and 100mm cases for clubs.
