Welcome Zoe Davies to the Straptor Team!

We are proud to announce our sponsorship of Zoe Davies, a driven and passionate athlete whose journey through the ranks of Australian and international netball is nothing short of inspiring. Zoe now represents the Melbourne Mavericks Reserves in the Suncorp Super Netball League — and recently achieved a major milestone by being named Mavericks player #17.

Zoe’s sporting journey didn’t begin on the court — in fact, she first made her mark in inline hockey. But at just 15 years old, she made the bold switch to netball, setting in motion a career that would be defined by her tenacity, talent, and relentless drive to succeed.

By 18, Zoe was competing in the Victorian Netball League (VNL), where she quickly became a standout player, winning three premierships and earning two Grand Final MVPs. Her consistent performance caught the attention of higher leagues, and after the challenges of COVID, she trialled for the Collingwood Magpies Academy — a move that would prove pivotal. Her hard work earned her a coveted position as a training partner and, in 2022, she made her Super Netball debut as player #33, taking the court in three games as a replacement player.

When the Collingwood Magpies program folded, Zoe wasn’t ready to hang up her bib. She took her skills overseas, signing with a team in the England Super Netball League, where she played alongside her good friend and netball legend Geva Mentor. That international experience deepened her understanding of the mental and physical demands of elite sport — knowledge she brought back with her to Australia with one goal in mind: to earn a spot in the Suncorp Super Netball league once again.

That determination paid off.

After countless setbacks, rejections, and moments where it would have been easier to walk away, Zoe kept going. “This journey consisted of numerous no’s and excuses,” she says. “But determination and motivation to prove that no matter who you are — if you want something — then you need to continue to fight for it.”
